The Victron Energy SmartSolar MPPT 150/45 is a premium Bluetooth-enabled solar charge controller that delivers ultrafast maximum power point tracking, built-in wireless monitoring, and advanced partial shading detection for maximum energy harvest in any condition.
Key Features:
- Built-In Bluetooth Smart — Wirelessly set up, monitor, update, and synchronize the controller directly from a smartphone with no additional hardware required.
- Advanced Partial Shading MPPT — Proprietary BlueSolar algorithm continuously scans the full power-voltage curve to lock onto the true optimum power point, even when multiple peaks exist during partial shading.
- Fully Discharged Battery Recovery — Initiates charging even when the battery has been fully discharged to zero volts, including reconnection to Li-ion batteries with integrated disconnect functions.
- Eight Pre-Programmed Charge Algorithms — Selectable via rotary switch with full programmability, covering all major battery types for optimized charging performance out of the box.
- Fanless 98% Peak Efficiency — No cooling fan required, with maximum efficiency exceeding 98% and full rated output maintained up to 40°C.
The SmartSolar MPPT 150/45 supports 12V, 24V, and 48V battery systems with automatic voltage selection, delivering up to 45A of charge current and handling up to 2,600W of PV power on 48V systems. Its 150V maximum PV open circuit voltage provides broad solar panel array compatibility.
The internal temperature sensor automatically compensates absorption and float charge voltages for temperature, while optional external battery voltage and temperature sensing via Bluetooth is available through a Smart Battery Sense or BMV-712 Smart Battery Monitor. Up to 46 days of trend data is stored onboard covering battery voltage, current, temperature, load output, PV voltage, and PV current.
Built with comprehensive electronic protection including PV reverse polarity, reverse current, output short circuit, and over-temperature derating, this controller is engineered for reliable long-term operation. The IP43-rated enclosure and -30°C to +60°C operating range make it suitable for demanding field installations worldwide.
