SHOCK SERIES: GLUTE ISOLATOR
The Shock Series brings Bolt's commitment to forging champions into the commercial gym market. The first thing you’ll notice about the Shock Series machines is the sleek, modern design. The weight stack is housed in a trapezoidal case made of laser-etched steel and polycarbonate glass to give the platform a distinct outline that is especially striking when placed in a line with other Shock Series machines.
Athletes will begin using the Glute Isolator by placing their forearms on the machine’s generous 24-by-11-inch wide pad with 3-inch-thick upholstery. Next, they will place one foot on the 15-inch rubber pedal at the back of the machine; two cutouts on the knurled footpad show them exactly where their feet should go. Finally, all they have to do is extend their leg backward against a maximum resistance of 182 pounds. The primary muscle trained by this exercise is the gluteus maximus. However, all muscles of the user’s posterior chain—from their calves to their traps—are strengthened, making it an excellent addition to any gym.
