The Shadow line of weight plates is BOLT’s 6th-generation injection-mold rubber plate, a product that represents our 10-year-long quest to find the ideal mix of chemicals, rubber compounds, and stabilizing agents that come together to make the perfect weight plate, but it’s not just the materials we use. The Shadow line has been shaped by a decade of real-world use, precision drop-testing, and copious user feedback to become the workhorse weightplate that it is today.

Made by mold-injection, a process whereby different rubbers are melted into a fluid state, then forcibly pressed into a cast-iron mold, the Shadow guarantees athletes uniform plate dimensions, smooth surfaces, and a low bounce, especially when compared to our crumb bumper plates.

The Shadow is designed to withstand the rigors of continuous use in a full-service 24-hour commercial gym. The durable construction and stainless-steel inserts allow it to endure repeated drops—even at shoulder height—without inflicting undue damage to the flooring or the weights themselves.
