The Securistyle Defender Restricted Top-Hung Friction Hinge is built to maximise safety and reliability in residential settings. Available in 12", 16", 20", and 24" lengths with 13 mm or 17 mm stack heights, it fits most top-hung PVC-u windows. Tested to BS EN 13126-5, the restrictor meets Building Regulations Part K by limiting openings to 100 mm where fall heights exceed 600 mm, reducing the risk of accidents in homes, apartments, and multi-occupancy buildings. A quick-release lever allows full sash opening for cleaning or ventilation, with the restrictor automatically re-engaging when closed.

For lasting performance, the Yale Defender hinge incorporates a robust cam friction device, asymmetric location system for consistent closure, and an enclosed end cap with vent arm for improved weather sealing (BS 6375-1). Its slot-hole-slot fixing enables secure, adjustable installation into PVC-u reinforcement. Cycle tested 30,000 times, corrosion tested to 96 hours, and both Secured by Design approved and BBA certified, it ensures safe, smooth operation for years to come.
