Description
Quincy 4152026537 QGS 20 HP 132 Gallon Rotary Screw Air Compressor with Dryer
Most compressors are bought as one machine and then live alone. This one is built with the assumption that it might not. Its Infologic2 Basic microprocessor controller can be networked with other QGS units in the 20 HP to 30 HP range — up to six of them — so a group of compressors behaves as a single plant instead of six machines each guessing at the header pressure on its own.
That is worth understanding even if you are only buying one today, because it changes what happens in two years. A shop that outgrows its air usually adds a second compressor, and two independent machines watching the same pipe is a genuinely bad arrangement: both see pressure fall, both load, and you end up running twice the electricity to make air nobody asked for. Sequencing solves it by giving the group one brain. Buying into a family that can do that later is a cheaper decision than discovering you cannot.
Belt drive on this particular unit
The pump drive recorded for this model is a belt drive. It is worth being straight about what that means rather than pretending it is invisible. Belts are a scheduled wear item: they want checking for tension and condition, and eventually a matched set gets replaced. Against that, a belt transmission is cheap to service, forgiving of small misalignments, and the parts are ordinary. Several other units in this same QGS family are gear-driven instead, and if you would rather have no belts on the maintenance calendar at all, ask us which sibling model to look at — that is a real choice within the range, not a marketing distinction.
The dryer is inside the cabinet, and the data agrees it is there
This unit carries an integrated refrigerant air dryer, and unusually for this product family every source we hold agrees on it: the model title, the manufacturer's feature list and the product's own specification table all record the dryer as present. Several sibling models in the same range have a feature list claiming a dryer and a spec table denying it, so on those we tell buyers to check. On this one we do not have to.
What the dryer buys you is downstream, not at the compressor. Compressed air leaves a screw element hot and saturated; as it cools in your pipework the water drops out, and it drops out inside your tools, your cylinders, your paint and your blast media. A refrigerated dryer chills the air, condenses the moisture where you can drain it, and sends the rest on dry. Corrosion inside a distribution system is slow, expensive and almost never traced back to the compressor that caused it.
Continuous running, and how the machine is protected while it does it
Duty cycle is 100%. The oil-injected twin screw element is designed to be loaded and running rather than stopping to cool, and the premium synthetic lubrication is rated for 8,000 hours, which keeps oil carryover low and stretches the interval between services. The motor is a TEFC design with IP 55 wash-down protection, so dirt, damp and washdown spray are contemplated rather than merely survived. Low-oil shutdown is fitted on both the engine and the pump, and there is an oil sight glass and a spin-on fluid filter for the checks you actually do week to week. Starting is Wye-Delta reduced-voltage, which keeps the inrush off your supply.
Will it fit, and can your building feed it?
The complete package — compressor, dryer and horizontal receiver — measures 74 inches long, 30.7 inches wide and 72.2 inches tall, and weighs 1,296 lbs. It is a tall assembly rather than a wide one, so measure your door height and any overhead obstruction on the route in, not just the floor area. The receiver's outlet is 1 inch, which is what your header should be sized from.
The electrical side needs settling before the order, not after. This is a 208-230/460V 3-phase machine with a magnetic starter fitted. Quincy does not publish an amp draw or a recommended breaker for it — both fields in the manufacturer's data read "Consult Certified Electrician" — and we will not substitute a figure of our own. Have a licensed electrician confirm your service, feeder and starter arrangement against the nameplate. Supply, siting and any permits are the customer's responsibility.
Perfect for
Busy multi-bay automotive shops running air tools all day. Fabrication and light manufacturing that needs clean, dry air for finishing or pneumatics. Any operation that expects to grow and would rather add a second sequenced machine later than replace this one. It is a three-phase industrial compressor, so a single-phase building will need service work or a different model.

Two figures are missing above on purpose. The free-air-delivery rating and the sound level both sit in this product's data without a unit attached to them, and a number without a unit is not a specification. Rather than print a figure we cannot stand behind, ask us and we will read both off the current Quincy datasheet.
What's included
Per the manufacturer's own feature list: the QGS rotary screw compressor, the Infologic2 Basic Controller and its display panel, the TEFC electric motor with IP 55 wash-down protection, the integrated refrigerant air dryer, the 132 gallon horizontal receiver, an air filter, pressure gauge, oil sight glass, aftercooler, low-oil shutdown, magnetic starter and spin-on fluid filter. An electronic drain valve is listed as not included, which is worth knowing because a manual drain is a job somebody has to remember to do.
Shipping and delivery
This item ships free within the lower 48 states, so there is nothing to add at checkout. This crate weighs over half a ton and stands taller than a man, so plan the unload before it leaves: a loading dock, a forklift with the reach to take it off the deck, or collection from the carrier's terminal. Residential delivery carries a residential fee. Inspect the shipment on arrival and note any damage on the bill of lading before signing — once it is signed clean, freight damage stops being the carrier's problem.
Warranty
The recorded coverage is 1 Year consumer and 1 Year commercial. An extended 3 Year factory warranty is available, and the True Blue 5-Year warranty applies when the unit is commissioned through a Quincy authorized start-up. Because that start-up is a condition rather than a courtesy, arrange it before you switch the machine on for production. If a fault appears, shut the compressor down and speak to us first: dismantling a unit before the claim is raised is the quickest way to lose the coverage you paid for.
Return policy
Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right.
