"100% duty cycle" is printed on a lot of compressors and understood by very few buyers. It is the claim this machine is built around, so it is worth saying exactly what it commits to: the pump is designed to run continuously rather than to be rested between runs. You schedule the work. The compressor is not part of the schedule.
That is a structural claim, not a marketing one, and it explains most of what this machine is: a cast-iron two-stage pump, splash lubrication, an oversized oil reservoir, a slow-turning motor, and an 80-gallon upright receiver on a 230 Volt, 3-Phase supply.

Worth clearing up before you order service parts. What continuous duty is actually made of
A machine cannot be rated for continuous running by assertion. Four things have to be true at once, and they are all visible in the build.
Heat has to leave. That is the job of the aluminium head, the large balanced cast-iron flywheel angled to move air across the pump, and the high-efficiency finned intercooler between the two compression stages. Oil has to stay in grade, which is why the reservoir is oversized — a greater volume runs cooler and degrades more slowly than a small one working hard. Wear has to be slow, which is what the slow-speed ODP motor and the industrial-class bearings are for. And the parts under load have to be stiff enough not to move, which is the argument for cast-iron cylinders rather than a lighter casting.
Remove any one of those and the duty rating becomes a number on a page. Together they are why a machine this heavy exists in a class where lighter units are available.
The two stages
Compression happens twice, with cooling in between. Hot air resists being compressed, so passing the charge through the intercooler before the second stage is what makes 175 PSI a working condition rather than a strained ceiling — and it is equally what keeps carbon from baking into the head, which is the process that ends valve life early on single-stage machines run hard at pressure.
Output is published as 17.2 CFM at 175 PSI. Treat those two as one specification. Quincy also states oil carryover under 5 PPM, meaning very little oil mist travels with the air — the specification to check if the line will ever feed spray equipment or instruments.
Will it fit?
The receiver stands upright, so the machine occupies roughly 37" by 24" of floor and rises to about 74". Choose this layout when floor area is scarce and headroom is not. Before delivery, measure the intended position to the underside of whatever is above it — shelf, duct, roller-door track — and allow reach room for the belt guard, sight glass and drain.
Then look down. 680 lbs standing tall on four feet magnifies every fault in a slab; a machine that rocks will work its own mounts loose and hum through the structure. Preparing a flat, solid, level pad is the buyer's responsibility and it is the single most useful thing you can do for the machine's service life.
Air treatment is a separate design job. The tank outlet is 3/4" and neither an aftercooler nor an air dryer is fitted, so drying, filtration and regulation belong in the line rather than in the expectation.
Fitted, not specified
Three things arrive on the machine that are often a separate purchase elsewhere: a factory-mounted magnetic starter with thermal overload, low-oil shutdown, and an automatic tank drain. The last is easy to undervalue — condensate left standing is the usual way a receiver is destroyed, and automating it takes the outcome away from human memory.

Certification, stated plainly
The data behind this listing claims two things and we will repeat exactly those two: a coded pressure vessel built to the American standard with relief valves fitted, and UL and CSA recognition on the electrical components.
What is nowhere claimed is an independent safety listing of the complete machine as installed. That document is not the same as a vessel stamp or a component recognition, and some insurers, fleet policies and local inspectors ask for it by name on fixed equipment. Blurring the two would be an easy sale and a bad one. If your installation depends on that listing, raise it with us before you order.
Shipping and receiving
The compressor moves as palletised freight within the lower 48 states, free of charge.
Plan the unload first. A driver's obligation ends at the back of the truck, so have a dock, a forklift, or a pallet jack and firm level ground ready for it. If your site has none of those, take terminal pickup and collect it from the carrier with your own equipment. Delivery to a home address is residential and carries a residential fee — worth settling at the point of order.
Inspect it while the driver is still there. Damage recorded on the bill of lading before you sign is claimable; damage found on a clean signature generally is not. Photograph the pallet and the crate and write down what you see.
Warranty
The machine carries a 1-Year factory warranty extending to Quincy's 3-Year "No Bull" warranty. The extension comes with Quincy's own conditions and does not arrive automatically with the compressor, so read the linked warranty handbook and confirm what this model asks of you before relying on three years of cover.
And if the pump ever misbehaves, leave it together. A stripped pump cannot be assessed for what failed first, which is exactly the evidence a claim rests on. Tell us the symptom and let it be examined intact.
