The BioStyle Replacement Filter Foams provide both mechanical and biological filtration. Not only do the foams remove debris from the aquarium water but their coarse structure provides a large surface area ideal for bacteria to colonise. These nitrifying bacteria remove harmful ammonia and nitrite, which complements the mechanical filtration resulting in cleaner, healthier water for your aquarium inhabitants.
