Replacement Intake Air Filter for Matala 1/4 HP and 1/2 HP Rocking Piston Compressors
Rocking piston compressors pull ambient air through an intake filter before compressing it into your pond's air lines. Dust, pollen, and debris that bypass a degraded filter reach the cylinder and accelerate wear on internal components. This genuine Matala MPC-AF1 replacement filter fits MPC-60 (1/4 HP) and MPC-120 (1/2 HP) models and keeps air delivery clean through another full season.
Why Replace It Annually
A partially clogged intake filter forces the compressor to work harder to maintain pressure, drawing more electricity and generating more heat. In a rocking piston design, heat is the primary cause of piston seal failure. Replacing the air filter at spring startup costs less than two minutes of work and extends the life of a compressor that could otherwise run for a decade or more.

Installation
Shut off the compressor. Unthread the existing filter from the intake port. Thread the new filter on hand-tight. Restart the compressor and confirm normal pressure output. Replace when airflow seems reduced or the filter element appears discoloured — typically once per season in normal outdoor use.
Ideal for pond aeration systems running Matala MPC-60 or MPC-120 compressors in residential and light commercial pond applications.
