Description

LANAIR XTD200 Waste Oil Heater Value Package 1

Waste oil installations rarely fail on the heater. They fail on the chimney — the wrong pipe in the wrong place, a missing collar, no way to clean the flue once soot starts to build. This package exists to remove that failure mode: the ductable XTD200 supplied together with a complete flue kit specified for a 16-foot eave, including both grades of pipe the job needs and the capped tee that lets you clean the run afterwards.

The heater is the ductable model in Lanair's line, rated at 200,000 BTUH across roughly 5,000 square feet at a fuel input of 1.44 GPH, with the chimney able to leave the cabinet from the top or the left side. It burns 100% used synthetic oil, along with used crankcase oil up to 50 weight, used automatic transmission fluid, and #1 and #2 fuel oil.

Two kinds of pipe, and why the difference is not optional

A flue kit for this class of appliance contains two materially different products, and confusing them is the single most consequential error an inexperienced installer makes.

Class A chimney pipe is insulated, double-walled, and rated to pass through building fabric — a roof, a ceiling, a wall — while keeping its outer surface at a temperature that will not ignite what it touches. Black pipe is single-wall connector pipe, intended only for the visible run inside the heated space between the appliance and the start of the Class A section. Black pipe is cheaper and easier to work, which is exactly why it sometimes ends up in a penetration where Class A belongs. That is not a saving, it is a fire.

The kit here supplies both, in the quantities the geometry usually calls for, along with the storm collar and finishing collar that seal the transitions, a roof support bracket to carry the weight of the chimney rather than hanging it off the heater, and a 90° elbow and 14" slip connector for the offset almost every real installation needs.

The cleaning access nobody notices until they need it

One item in the list deserves more attention than it gets: the black tee pipe with a cap. It looks like a fitting and it is a maintenance feature. Burning used fluid deposits residue in the flue as well as in the chamber, and a straight run with no access point can only be cleaned by taking it down. The capped tee gives you a port to brush the run through from. On an appliance you intend to keep for a decade, that is the difference between an hour's job and an afternoon with the flue in pieces on the floor.

The kit, itemised

Specified for a 16-foot eave:

Part Count
Class A chimney pipe, 24" 1
Class A chimney pipe, 36" 1
Black pipe, 24" 4
Black tee pipe with cap 1
Elbow, 90° 1
Slip connector, 14" 1
Roof support bracket 1
Storm collar 1
Finishing collar 1
Roof flashing, 0/12 to 6/12 pitch 1
Chimney cap 1

Will It Fit?

  • Flue route. Establish it before you choose a hanging position. The chimney constrains where the heater can go far more than the reverse, and the flashing supplied covers pitches from 0/12 to 6/12.
  • Eave height. The kit is sized on a 16-foot eave; a taller building needs additional pipe.
  • Cabinet. 24" x 40.5" x 56" (H x W x D) — a deep body, and depth is the dimension most often misjudged when planning a position.
  • Suspension. 523 lbs hanging weight. Have the structural capacity of the mounting point confirmed by somebody qualified.
  • Services. 120V at 20 amps on a dedicated circuit, plus 2 CFM of compressed air at 12-15 PSI available whenever the burner is firing.

Clearances to combustible material, the penetration detail, the structural assessment, fuel storage arrangements and any permit or inspection your jurisdiction requires are the buyer's responsibility. We supply the equipment and the manufacturer's documentation; approving the installation is not ours to do.

Ductable, and the fuel it will take

The D cabinet is the one that can feed duct, which matters if your building is not a single open volume — a partitioned parts store, an office built into a corner, a wash bay behind a wall. In a fully open shop it makes no difference to performance and you can disregard it.

The fuel specification is more universally relevant. Burning 100% used synthetic oil is now the requirement rather than the bonus, because that is increasingly what comes out of a modern drain pan. Behind the burner is a 12 gauge cold-rolled steel combustion chamber with a hinged clean-out door and a side access panel onto the collector box, plus an hour meter, a prime switch and a noncontinuous spark transformer.

Perfect For

  • First installations, where having the whole flue specified and boxed removes the commonest cause of delay.
  • Buildings of roughly 5,000 square feet with a partition or two to heat past.
  • Roofs in the 0/12 to 6/12 pitch range with an eave around 16 feet.
  • Shops running current vehicles whose waste stream is largely synthetic.

What's in the Box

Approvals — read this before you order

The specification data behind this listing does not state an independent safety listing for the unit. That is not the same as saying it is unsafe, but it is a distinction you should make deliberately rather than by default: a manufacturer's own declaration against a standard and a listing issued by an independent testing laboratory are different documents, and where oil-fired appliances and their flues are concerned, codes officers, commercial insurers and fleet safety policies often ask for the second one by name. If any of those govern your site, ask us for the current documentation for this model and get the requirement settled in writing before you buy.

Shipping and Delivery

This item ships free within the lower 48 states, so there is nothing to add at checkout. Several pieces travel together here, so the piece count is worth checking against the paperwork while the driver is still on site. Unloading is the receiver's responsibility — a forklift and someone to operate it, or terminal pickup with your own equipment. Residential delivery is available at an additional fee. Write any damage or shortage on the bill of lading before signing it; after a clean signature there is very little to work with. The current listing also states a processing window of 5-7 business days before dispatch, which is processing rather than transit — we do not promise a delivery date.

Warranty

Manufacturer's warranty applies. Current terms and the claim procedure are published on our warranty claims page. Log the claim before anything is taken apart. Dismantling a burner or chamber to investigate is the most frequent reason a straightforward claim slows down, because the evidence goes with it. Photograph the fault as found, record the hour meter reading, and speak to us before the tools come out.
