Automatic mains-failure backup for ATSR diesel generators
The Könner & Söhnen KS ATS 4/63HD is an automatic transfer switch for compatible diesel generators with an ATSR connection. It monitors the mains supply, starts the generator after a power failure and transfers the selected load to generator power.
When mains power returns, the ATS transfers the load back and stops the generator after the configured delay. The integrated programmable logic controller supports automatic or manual operation and configurable timing for the standby sequence.

It is suited to essential-load distribution boards rather than uncontrolled connection of an entire site.
The generator’s selected output mode determines the backup arrangement. For generators with 230V/400V voltage-selection capability, the electrician must design the ATS and load circuits for the chosen operating mode; do not assume a single generator can support all single-phase and three-phase loads simultaneously.
