Katool KT-T835 and KT-B760: one supply, one circuit spec, two machines

Here is the small thing that makes this particular pairing easy to install: both machines are specified for 110V single-phase power. The KT-T835 changer runs 110V at 60 Hz, the KT-B760 balancer runs 110V, and that is the entire electrical conversation. One voltage to quote your electrician, one circuit spec for the bay, nothing to adapt and no discovery on commissioning day that the second machine wanted something the first did not.

That sounds trivial until you have paid for it. Tyre bays are frequently built from a changer bought one year and a balancer bought another, and the mismatch turns up as an extra circuit, an adapter, or a machine sitting on a pallet waiting for a sparky. A pair specified together avoids the whole category of problem — and what is inside them is serious equipment: a 582 lb changer clamping 13 in to 28 in, and a balancer reading to ±1 gram.

What the KT-T835 brings

It is a wheel-clamp changer with a broad grip. Outside clamping runs 13 in to 26 in, inside clamping 14 in to 28 in, and the turntable takes wheels to 41 in (1,040 mm) in diameter and 15 in (350 mm) in width. Between those two ranges, a technician can choose whether to grip a given rim from its inner face or its outer edge, which is the choice that keeps marks off an expensive alloy.

The motor is 2.0 HP with pure copper windings, turning the table at 6.1 revolutions per minute — slow on purpose, since rim damage is a function of speed at the bead. Bead breaking is done by a 186 mm stainless cylinder. The jaws take a 1.1 mm carburised case with a through-quench behind it, so the gripping edge stays hard while the body of the jaw stays tough, and they wear covers so bare steel never meets a wheel. The mounting head is solution-treated, polished stainless under a plastic protector; a spade cover shields the lever contact; a closed body keeps grit out; and the air feed is filtered and lubricated before it reaches a valve. Double-sided assist arms hold stubborn sidewalls where one arm would let them spring.

What the KT-B760 brings

The balancer covers rims to 30 in, wheel assemblies to 880 mm (34.64 in), wheel widths from 3 in to 12 in, centre bores to 135 mm (5.31 in), and wheel weights to 65 kg (143 lbs). It spins at 180 rpm and reports corrections to ±1 gram, with a measuring cycle of roughly 7 seconds — fast enough that balancing is never the step holding up a fitment.

Its accuracy rests on how still it stays. The body is 3 mm steel, welded solidly rather than bolted together, and the pressure sensor sits on an all-in-one support with 8 mm boards top and side. A structure that moves under a spinning wheel reports its own movement as imbalance, so stiffness here is a measurement property rather than a durability one. The 36 mm shaft thread is quenched because every wheel that machine ever balances hangs on it.

Operationally it is straightforward: an automatic measurement ruler enters A and D values without anyone reading a scale, several balance modes suit different rim constructions, units toggle between ounces and grams and between millimetres and inches, and built-in fault diagnosis with double-sided self-calibration lets you verify the machine rather than wonder about it. A longer shaft accepts wide wheels and a wheel guard is available.

Air, floor and commissioning

• Electrical: 110V single phase for both. The changer is rated at 60 Hz; a dedicated socket for each machine is still sensible even though the specification is shared.
• Air: regulated compressed air to 145 PSI, feeding the bead breaker, the clamps and the inflation gauge.
• Floor: flat, level concrete. The changer is 582 lbs and should be anchored as the manual sets out; a balancer that is not sitting flat will not read consistently.
• Before the first customer wheel: unpack and inspect, anchor, connect power and ground it properly, connect air, then exercise every control — turntable, bead breaker, assist arms, inflation — and run the balancer's self-calibration.

Neither machine's published data names a third-party certification or listing, and this page will not invent one. The question carries less weight on tyre-service equipment than on a vehicle lift, where a person stands under a suspended load, and most buyers are never asked. Freight, lower 48, rated live at checkout against the address you type in. Plan the receiving end before you order: a freight truck delivers to its tailgate and everything after that belongs to the receiver, which for a 582 lb crate means a forklift or a machine of comparable capacity. No forklift, no problem — select terminal pickup and the carrier's depot will load it onto your trailer when you arrive. A residential address adds a residential fee, shown at checkout when that option is chosen.

Do the damage check before signing. Corners, banding, pallet movement, anything leaking: write it on the bill of lading in front of the driver and photograph what you wrote about. A signature with no exceptions on it is the carrier's evidence that the freight was delivered in good order.
