The Hyundai HY40CT36 is a 40V cordless tiller powered by two 20V lithium-ion batteries. The brushless motor drives four steel blades through a 35cm / 14" working width to a depth of up to 205mm. No fuel, no fumes, no cord to manage — just predictable, clean tilling whenever the soil conditions are right.

At 205mm, the HY40CT36 reaches below the surface compaction layer where most hand tools stop. The brushless motor gives consistent torque at the blade without any exhaust fumes — well suited to greenhouse beds, enclosed kitchen gardens, or any space where ventilation is limited.

Cover a Useful Width in Each Pass

The 35cm / 14" working width means you cover meaningful ground with each forward pass. For a standard 3m x 2m raised bed, that's around 17 passes to fully work the soil — manageable on a single charge.

Easy to Store, Ready When You Need It

At 10.5kg, the HY40CT36 is light enough to carry to the allotment or move between garden beds without help. The compact package dimensions make it easy to store in a shed or garage.

No Cables. No Petrol. No Pollution

All tools in the Hyundai 20V cordless range share the same battery platform. One battery works across every tool in the collection — so batteries you already own are ready to use straight away, and additional batteries charged for one tool are available for any other.

Several tools in the range, including this one, run on two 20V batteries in series to deliver 40V. These dual-battery tools are part of the same system and use the same 20V batteries as the single-battery tools.

Please note: 20V 2nd Generation batteries (SKUs starting HY20 or HY40) are not compatible with 1st Generation 20V MAX batteries (SKUs starting HY21).
