Description

Champion LVR07PURHS-8 10 HP Rotary Vane Air Compressor, 80 Gallon Horizontal

The specification worth reading twice on this machine is not the horsepower. It is the oil carryover figure: 3 ppm. Every lubricated compressor sends a little oil downstream with the air, and how much decides whether your filtration is a formality or a running battle. For anyone spraying finish, running an air-fed line or feeding equipment that resents contamination, that one number is the reason a rotary vane machine costs what it costs.

The LVR07PURHS-8 is a 10 HP rotary vane compressor with a cast iron airend, driven directly by a TEFC motor at a slow 1760 RPM, mounted on an 80 gallon horizontal receiver and rated to 150 PSI. It is quiet, it has no belts, and it is built to run for long stretches rather than in short bursts.

What 3 ppm actually means at the tool

Oil that leaves the compressor has to go somewhere. In a shop that only runs impact guns, it goes into the tools and largely does no harm. In a body shop, a packaging line, a laundry, a dental surgery or any process where air touches the product, it goes into the work, and the cost shows up as fish-eyes in a finish, contaminated packaging or a rejected batch.

Filtration can take oil out, but every stage of coalescing filtration is capital cost, pressure drop and a consumable someone has to remember to change. Starting with less oil in the stream means fewer stages, longer element life and less pressure lost between the tank and the tool. The airend arrives factory filled with CS300 vane diester lubricant, and that fluid is part of the specification rather than a suggestion: the carryover figure belongs to it, so a generic compressor oil is not a like-for-like substitute.

Direct drive at 1760 RPM: fewer parts, less noise

A rotary vane airend has a rotor turning inside a cast iron housing with vanes riding out against the bore. There is no reciprocating mass slamming back and forth, so there is no pulsation to damp and far less vibration to transmit into the floor. Delivery is continuous rather than in pulses.

Direct drive removes the whole belt system. Nothing to tension on commissioning, nothing to check quarterly, nothing to glaze, nothing to replace, and no alignment to lose. Running the airend slowly, at 1760 RPM, is the other half of the design: a machine that turns slowly wears slowly and makes less noise doing it. Between the slow speed, the absence of belts and the absence of reciprocating pulses, this is a compressor that can sit in an occupied building without becoming the thing everyone complains about.

High temperature safety shutdown protection is standard, which matters more on a vane machine than on a reciprocating one. The vanes rely on the lubricant film to seal and survive; a unit that trips on temperature rather than pressing on is a unit that gets a service call instead of a new airend.

Will it fit, and what does it need?

The compressor is about 66 inches long and weighs roughly 670 lbs, so it needs a route in that can take that on a pallet, and a solid, level floor to sit on. It is a horizontal package, which is the right choice when you have wall length available and limited height.

Do not push it tight against a wall. The motor is TEFC and cools by moving air over its frame, and the airend sheds heat too, so a machine boxed into a corner runs hotter than the one on the data sheet. The receiver has a 3/4 inch outlet for the shop main. Oil capacity is 1 gallon, so keep a drain pan and the correct fluid on the shelf.

On power, this is a 3 phase unit with a NEMA 1 mounted full voltage starter panel included. The specific voltages available are recorded in our data in a form we cannot safely print, so ask us to confirm the exact voltage for the build you want, and have your electrician confirm what the building supplies, before you order.

Overall width, overall height and the air delivery figure are also not stated on this page. That is deliberate. Those values sit in our record without a unit attached, and a delivery rating printed without its unit is not a specification, it is a guess with a decimal point. We will read all three off the factory data sheet for you on request.

Perfect for

  • Paint and finishing operations where air quality is the difference between a job delivered and a job redone.
  • Packaging, laundry and light manufacturing running a long steady duty day.
  • Dental, laboratory and clinical premises that need clean air and low noise in an occupied building.
  • Shops that hate maintenance: no belts to tension, align or replace.

Certification, stated plainly

Our product record for this compressor carries no third-party safety listing and no pressure vessel stamp for the receiver. That describes our data and nothing more; it is not an assertion that the machine lacks anything. Where an insurer, a local inspector or a workplace safety audit requires a named listing or stamp, tell us which one it is and we will check it against the factory documentation before the order is placed. We will not decorate this page with a mark our own records cannot back.

Shipping and delivery

Freight only, contiguous United States. Around 670 lbs on a pallet rules out any parcel service, and the freight cost is calculated live at checkout for the address you enter rather than being averaged across the map.

Unloading is the customer's job. Line up a forklift with capacity above the shipping weight or take terminal pickup and bring your own equipment. Deliveries to residential addresses carry a residential fee, which appears in the checkout quote before you pay. Inspect the pallet with the driver still there: a bent tank foot, a damaged motor fan cover, torn wrap or fluid on the trailer deck all belong on the bill of lading in writing, with photographs. Once you have signed it clean, the carrier's position is that it arrived perfect.

Warranty and support

Warranty terms and how to open a claim are on our warranty claims page. Do not open the airend or the starter panel to investigate a fault before the claim exists. A component that has already been apart is the single most common reason a genuine claim gets refused, so report it, get it documented, and wait for instruction. To confirm voltage, get the withheld figures from the factory sheet, or work out whether the horizontal or vertical layout suits your floor better, call, text or chat with us on 866-774-7743.

Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right.
