These meticulously crafted training discs deliver exceptional performance through precise weight distribution and balanced design, ensuring stability throughout every lift. The durable construction makes them a perfect match for any home gym equipment, offering longevity for daily use without compromise.
Available as pairs, or full sets with optional bars, they’re the ideal choice for adjustable weights, barbell conversion, and strength training routines. The standard hole diameter offers seamless compatibility with most dumbbell barbell kits, weight lifting sets, and commercial-grade systems. Whether you're performing isolation exercises or compound lifts like squats and presses, these plates support full body workouts, bodybuilding gear, and progressive overload strategies.
Perfect for compact setups or larger fitness spaces, their slim profile ensures easy storage—ideal for compact home gyms, dumbbell sets for men, and dumbbell sets for women, all while integrating smoothly with chrome dumbbells, spin lock dumbbells, and other professional-grade gear.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What's the difference between Olympic and standard weight plates?
Olympic weight plates have a centre hole of 50mm and are designed to fit on the larger, rotating sleeves of an Olympic barbell, making them suitable for heavy, compound lifts. Standard weight plates have a 1-inch (25mm) centre hole and are generally used with lighter, budget-friendly barbells and dumbbell sets, but they are not interchangeable.
Are cast iron weight plates better than rubber bumper plates for home gyms?
Cast iron plates are typically more affordable and take up less space on the barbell sleeve than rubber bumper plates, making them ideal for building up heavy weights within a compact footprint. However, they are not designed for repeated heavy drops like bumper plates and should be lowered with control to protect your flooring and equipment.
What's included in the cast iron weight plate sets from Gym Plates?
Gym Plates offers six pre-configured cast iron weight plate sets, ranging from a 15kg beginner set (Set A) up to a full 150kg set (Set F) for serious lifters. For example, Set A includes four 1.25kg and four 2.5kg plates, while the larger sets incorporate weights from 1.25kg up to 25kg discs.
