Description

BendPak EVS4500 Mobile EV Battery and Powertrain Lift Table

The detail that makes the EVS4500 an EV tool rather than a heavy scissor table is the top surface. The deck is faced in ultra-high molecular weight (UHMW) polyethylene, and it is doing two jobs at once: it is a low-friction surface, so a technician can slide a battery pack across the table instead of muscling it, and it is an insulation barrier that keeps the pack's electrical components from making direct contact with the conductive steel platform underneath. On a job where the part being handled is a live high-voltage assembly weighing most of a tonne, that second job is not a convenience feature.

Around it, the EVS4500 is a full-rise mobile scissor lift table rated at 4,500 lbs. (2,041 kg), running on its own 12 V DC power unit with a deep-cycle battery and an onboard charger. No air line, no wall outlet, no hose across the floor — it goes to the vehicle, works, and rolls to the next bay. It is part of BendPak's Mobi-EVS line and is intended for battery pack replacement and powertrain removal work.

Will It Fit?

Because it is mobile, the fitment question is not about your ceiling — it is about your aisles, your bay layout and how the table gets under a raised vehicle. The unit is 91.25 in. (2,318 mm) long overall and 53 in. (1,348 mm) wide including the steering handles, with the handle itself standing 39.25 in. (997 mm) high. The deck drops to a minimum height of 34.25 in. (868 mm) and rises to a maximum of 77.75 in. (1,972 mm) — from a press of the pendant control it reaches more than 6 ft in under twenty seconds. Screw jacks at the corners give 1.5 in. (38 mm) of adjustment for levelling on an imperfect floor.

A platform figure worth confirming before you build fixtures. Published figures for the platform differ: the manufacturer's marketing description gives the lift platform as 40 in. x 60 in., while the specification sheet for the same unit lists the top deck as 63 in. (1,600 mm) long by 42.75 in. (1,088 mm) wide, and 71.25 in. (1,807 mm) long measured with the handles. Both are set out here because if you are machining adapters or planning a fixture set, the difference matters. If the platform size decides your purchase, confirm it with us before you order — we will check it against the current factory drawing.

The table weighs 1,918 lbs. (870 kg) itself, so the floor it works on needs to take that plus the load. Charging is from an ordinary 120 VAC, 60 Hz supply; a full charge from around 20% takes roughly ten to twelve hours, which in practice means charging overnight rather than between jobs.

A deck designed to be built on

The platform surface carries multiple recessed anchoring locations, so modular fixtures, adapters and accessories can be bolted where the job needs them and removed when it does not. That is the difference between a lift table and a battery table: an EV pack is not a symmetric, self-supporting object, and it has to be cradled by something that matches its geometry. Recessed anchor points mean those cradles sit flat rather than proud of the deck, which keeps the low-friction surface usable.

Underneath, twin hydraulic cylinders in a dual scissor arrangement do the lifting — welded construction, chrome-plated rods, highly polished bores and a proprietary seal design intended to reduce leakage and extend seal life. Operating pressure at maximum load is 1,720 PSI. Twin cylinders in a dual scissor matter here for the same reason they matter on any table carrying an off-centre load: two lifting points resist the twist that a single central cylinder has to absorb through the frame.

Cordless, and built to be moved

Mobility is the second half of the design. Zero-throw casters let the table pivot in its own footprint, which is what makes it usable in a bay that was laid out before anyone thought about EV service. A stowable tow bar, a tri-caster locking pin and manual floor locks handle the other half of the problem — getting it to the vehicle and then keeping it exactly where you put it. Multi-point safety locks hold the deck mechanically at height rather than relying on hydraulic pressure, and the lift can be driven by remote control so the operator can stand where they can actually see the pack.

The 12 V deep-cycle battery is monitored by a charge-indicator gauge, so the state of charge is a reading rather than a guess. Full-length utility trays run down each side for tools and fasteners, which sounds trivial until you are forty bolts into a pack drop.

Perfect For

  • EV-certified service departments doing battery pack removal and replacement as routine work.
  • Multi-bay independent shops that need one table to serve several bays rather than a fixed installation per bay.
  • Fleet operations running electric vans and light trucks, where pack service is scheduled rather than exceptional.
  • Powertrain and driveline specialists handling heavy assemblies on any vehicle, electric or not.

If you are pairing this with a two-post lift, BendPak's own recommendation for EV work is its AP series — the 10,000 lbs. capacity model with triple-telescoping arms designed to reach EV-specific lifting points. The two are designed to be used together: the vehicle goes up, the table goes under.

Certification, stated honestly

The published data for this lift table carries no third-party safety certification claim, and none is implied here. That is a statement about documentation, not about the engineering. It matters because high-voltage work is exactly the area where an insurer, a manufacturer's dealer agreement or a local jurisdiction is most likely to specify what equipment may be used. If you are working to any such requirement, get the specific wording and we will check it against BendPak's own documentation with you before you order rather than afterwards.

Shipping and delivery

Freight only, to the lower 48 states. This item ships free, so there is nothing to add at checkout. At 1,918 lbs. this needs unloading — a forklift, a dock, or terminal pickup, which for a single crated unit is frequently the least painful option. Residential delivery is available and carries a fee. Warehouse pickup can be arranged too, and the BendPak pickup locations are listed further down this page — call us to set it up.

Inspect the shipment before you sign for it. Note any damage on the bill of lading while the driver is still on site — once a clean bill of lading is signed, recovering on a freight claim is difficult. Photographs taken at the truck are worth having.

Warranty

BendPak publishes a single warranty document covering its full product line rather than a model-specific term, so instead of quoting a number of years this page cannot support, we will send you the current document on request. One rule applies regardless of what it says: do not disassemble a component you intend to claim on. A stripped power unit or cylinder is the most common reason a legitimate claim is refused. Contact us first and we will tell you what the manufacturer needs to see.
