What electrical service do I need to run the AF9P?

220 volts, single phase, on a dedicated 40-amp breaker, wired with #8 wire. The magnetic starter is included — there is no separate motor starter to purchase. Most shops on standard 220V single-phase service already have what they need; a fresh 40-amp circuit is typically the only electrical work required.

Is the AF9P quiet enough to run in a working bay?

Atlas describes the AF9P as extremely quiet for its class. The 1,740 RPM low-RPM motor and 2-stage pump design run noticeably quieter than higher-RPM single-stage compressors of similar output. The compressor still produces shop-level noise during the on-cycle; the vibro-isolation pads included with the unit reduce vibration transmitted to the floor.
