The Atlantic Water Gardens impeller assembly for the TidalWave MD250 mag-drive pump includes the complete impeller unit — blade, magnet core, and ceramic shaft bushing — as a single drop-in replacement. Mag-drive pumps are known for their reliability, but the impeller assembly is the primary wear component and the first item to replace when flow drops or the pump runs noisily.
Complete Assembly, Not Just the Blade
Unlike some replacement parts that only include the impeller blade, this complete assembly includes all rotating components as one matched unit. The magnet core, ceramic shaft, and blade are factory-balanced together, ensuring the reassembled pump runs smoothly without vibration. Installing mismatched individual components can cause premature bearing wear and noise even if each part looks fine on its own.

How to Replace
Unplug the MD250 and remove it from the water. Open the front cover by rotating counter-clockwise. Pull out the old impeller assembly — it will separate from the magnet housing with a gentle tug. Drop in the new assembly, ensuring the ceramic shaft seats into the bearing cup. Reinstall the cover, confirm the impeller spins freely by hand, and return to service. Clean annually at spring startup.
