The Atlantic Water Gardens basin and pump kit for 12-inch spillways provides a matched basin and submersible pump sized specifically for recirculating water through a 12-inch spillway — eliminating the guesswork of selecting compatible basin volume and pump capacity for a new spillway installation. Everything needed to complete the water circuit is included in a single, pre-matched kit.
Matched Basin and Pump — No Sizing Guesswork
Undersizing the basin is the most common installation error in new spillway builds. A basin that is too small causes pump cavitation when the pump draws faster than water returns from the spillway — especially during hot, evaporative Canadian summer days. This pre-matched kit is specifically sized for a 12-inch spillway's flow characteristics: the basin holds enough reserve volume to maintain pump submersion under normal evaporation conditions, and the pump delivers the right GPH for a clean, even sheet over the 12-inch spout width.

How to Install
Position the basin below and in front of the spillway to catch the falling water sheet. Set the pump in the basin and run the supply line up the wall to the spillway inlet. Seal the supply line wall penetration with neutral-cure silicone. Fill the basin to the minimum water level before starting the pump. Adjust pump flow to the desired sheet depth and monitor the basin level for the first hour to confirm correct sizing. Top up with fresh water as needed during hot summer weather.
