Description

AMGO PRO-18: an 18,000 lb four-post whose runways move to fit the truck

Most four-post lifts arrive with the runway track fixed where the factory set it. The PRO-18 does not. Its platforms adjust steplessly — not in notches, not with shims, anywhere you like — across a range that runs from 43 3/8″ to 101 3/4″ measured across the outside edges, with 95 1/4″ as the everyday setting. That single mechanical choice is the reason this lift covers a fleet yard's whole mix, from a service van to a dual-rear-wheel one-ton, on the same pair of posts.

Around that sits an 18,000 lbs capacity, a 2.0 HP power unit, and a 3,483 lbs shipping weight that tells you honestly what class of machine you are buying. This is a commercial and fleet lift. It is not a hobby lift that has been talked up.

Will It Fit?

Answer these five before you order, not after the truck arrives. Every one of them is the buyer's responsibility to confirm — we cannot see your building, your slab or your panel.

  • Length. 293 1/4″ overall with the approach ramps attached, 252 1/4″ without them. The ramps fold, but you still need somewhere for a vehicle to roll on, so plan the deployed figure and add your own approach room.
  • Width. 137 1/16″ overall, 122 3/8″ between the columns. Then add walking room on both sides. A bay measured to the exact footprint is a bay you cannot get a transmission jack around.
  • Drive-through. 108 1/4″ of clearance between the carriages — about 9 ft. This, not the capacity, is what decides whether a wide-body truck can be driven straight through the lift rather than reversed out.
  • Ceiling. The structure stands 86 3/16″ tall. The number that governs your roof is your tallest vehicle's height plus the rise you intend to use, never the height of the lift on its own.
  • Power and floor. The power unit is 2.0 HP and needs a dedicated circuit run by an electrician. The concrete requirement — thickness, strength and condition under the anchor pattern — is stated in the installation manual attached to this listing, and it is worth reading before you buy rather than on install day. If you do not know what your slab is, find out. It is the single most common reason an installation stops.

Why stepless width matters more than it sounds

A four-post lift only holds a vehicle safely when the tyres sit properly on the runways, near the centre of the platform rather than hanging over an edge. On a fixed-width lift that means every vehicle outside a narrow band of track widths is a compromise. Set the PRO-18 wide and a dual-rear-wheel pickup or a step van sits square. Bring it in and a sedan or a light SUV does the same. Because the adjustment is continuous rather than notched, you are not choosing the nearest hole — you are setting the actual number the vehicle wants. For a shop that sees one thing all day the point is a single correct setting; for a mixed fleet bay the point is that one lift serves the whole yard.

Four independent things stop this lift falling

Safety on a four-post is layered on purpose, because any one system can be defeated. The PRO-18 carries a mechanical self-locking device that engages by itself as the lift rises and is released with air, so the lock is the resting state and the release is the deliberate act. Behind it sit multiple primary safety locks along the travel, so a failure does not mean a fall to the floor — it means a drop to the next lock. A cable-slack protection system watches the equalising cables and stops the lift if one goes loose, which is the failure mode that actually happens on a cable-driven lift as cables stretch with age. Those cables are aircraft-standard, and the hydraulic cylinder uses high-quality oil seals with a compensation valve.

None of that removes the operator's job. Raise the lift, let it settle onto the locks, and work off the locks — not off hydraulic pressure. The hydraulics move the vehicle; the steel holds it.

Working height and what fits underneath

The lift's maximum lock height to the top of the runway is 72″, with 75 3/16″ of raw lifting height, and it comes down to 7 7/8″ at its lowest. Underneath, you get 68 1/2″ of clearance with 65 3/8″ at the highest lock. Read those two numbers as a pair, because the useful one is the locked height, not the maximum: 65 3/8″ is what you will actually stand under all day, and how comfortable that is depends on how tall you are. If your work is undercar rather than wheels-off, measure your own eye level against that figure before you commit.

Perfect For

  • Fleet and municipal shops running a mixed roster of vans, pickups and light trucks on one bay.
  • Commercial service centres that need the capacity headroom of an 18,000 lb rating rather than working a lighter lift near its limit.
  • Truck and RV specialists where track width varies more than weight does.
  • Storage and staging for heavy vehicles, where the lift spends more time holding than lifting.

It is not a good match for a low-ceilinged residential garage, and we would rather say so here than sell you one.

What's in the Box

The lift ships with the ETL certified power unit as standard, non-skid diamond-plate platforms, the mechanical self-locking safety device with its air-driven release, the primary lock set, the cable-slack protection system and the aircraft-standard synchronisation cables. Anchors, adapters and accessory items vary by configuration — if a specific accessory is part of your plan, confirm it with us before ordering rather than assuming it is in the crate.

Certification, stated plainly

The power unit supplied with this lift is ETL certified. That is a real, verifiable listing and it is worth having — but be clear about its scope: it covers the electrical power unit, not the lift structure as a whole. A power-unit listing is a different document from a North American third-party safety listing of the complete lift, and it is not a substitute for one. If your insurer, your fleet policy, a franchise agreement or your local inspector requires that whole-lift listing, verify the exact wording of the requirement before you buy. Send us the wording and we will confirm exactly what documentation this lift carries — a question worth settling before you order rather than at an inspection.

Shipping and delivery

This lift ships by freight to the lower 48 only. The carrier will contact you to arrange a delivery appointment; nobody is going to leave 3,483 lbs on your kerb unannounced. You must be able to get the shipment off the truck — a forklift, a telehandler or a loading dock — or you can take terminal pickup and collect it yourself with suitable equipment. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, which is calculated live at checkout along with the freight itself. Warehouse pickup is available at Manning, SC, Dallas, TX and Temecula, CA.

Inspect the shipment before you sign. Walk the crate, photograph anything that looks wrong, and write the damage on the bill of lading in front of the driver. A signed clean bill of lading is your statement that it arrived undamaged, and it is very hard to walk back afterwards.

Warranty

AMGO backs the PRO-18 with a warranty covering its structural, hydraulic and electrical components. The current terms, the exclusions and the claim process are published on our warranty claims page — check them there rather than relying on a figure quoted in a description.

One warning that applies to every claim: do not disassemble a component before the claim is agreed. Opening a cylinder or a power unit to diagnose it yourself is the fastest way to void the cover on the exact part you are claiming for. Call us, describe the symptom, and let the process start properly.
