Description

AMGO OH-10: a 10,000 lb two-post lift that arrives with its adapters in the crate

The OH-10 comes with stackable rubber pads and three adapter heights — 1.5″, 2.5″ and 5″ — as standard equipment. That is worth leading with, because "do I also have to buy adapters?" is the question that turns a lift quote into a second invoice. Frame-contact vehicles, pinch-weld cars and pickups with a lot of ground clearance all need different pad stacks, and on this lift the range is in the box.

The second thing that defines it is the Super-Asymmetric arm design. Asymmetric means the arm geometry is not the same front and rear, and AMGO's claim for this version is a practical one: it makes finding the lift point on the car easier. On a lift used dozens of times a day, that is where the time and the risk actually sit.

Why the adapter set is the specification people skip

A two-post lift only touches the vehicle in four places, and how safely it holds the car is decided by whether those four contact points are the ones the manufacturer intended, sitting flat.

Too short a pad and you cannot reach a frame rail on a truck with any ride height. Too tall and a low car's rocker fouls the arm before the pad reaches the seam. A stack of 1.5″, 2.5″ and 5″ covers that spread, and being stackable means the intermediate heights are available too. It is the specification that decides whether the lift works on the second vehicle you put on it.

Clear floor, and what the overhead assembly does for you

The OH-10 uses a clear floor design: nothing crosses between the columns at ground level. You sweep straight through, roll a transmission jack under the middle of the car, and there is no plate to drive over on the way in.

The price of that is an overhead assembly, and AMGO puts it to work — an overhead safety shut-off device stops the lift before the roof of the vehicle meets the crossbeam. That is a real protection, because the person driving the lift up is looking at the sills, not the roofline.

The lift is offered at two overall heights, 142 1/8″ and 151″, so the structure can be matched to the building.

Cylinders, locks and the parts that wear

Dual direct-drive hydraulic cylinders — one per column, driving the carriage directly — are built to high standards. A single-point safety release lets the operator disengage both columns at once rather than walking around a loaded vehicle releasing one side and then the other, which is a safety property dressed as a convenience.

The carriages ride on self-lubricating UHMW polyethylene sliders and bronze bushings. The reason to care is not the material name: a lubrication schedule that depends on someone remembering is one that gets skipped, and worn slider blocks announce themselves as a lift that judders.

Will it fit?

Verifying the site against these numbers is the buyer's responsibility, and it is where two-post installations most often go wrong.

  • Overall height: 142 1/8″ or 151″, depending on the version. Measure to the lowest obstruction over the bay — lights, door track, heater — not to the roof.
  • Overall width: 135″, with 112 7/32″ between the columns.
  • Drive-through clearance: 99 1/2″. Check this against your widest vehicle, mirrors included.
  • Lifted height: as listed on this page, 72 15/32″ on the pads or 80 15/32″ with the extension adapter (the without-adapter figure is disputed — see the note below), with lock heights of 69 5/8″ and 78 5/8″.
  • Clearance under the arms: 69″ at maximum rise. This is the number that decides whether you stand up under the car or stoop.
  • Minimum pad height: 3 1/2″ as listed on this page (disputed — see the note below). It is the figure that determines whether a low car can be driven over the arms at all, so it is worth confirming.
  • Slab: a two-post lift transfers everything into two patches of anchored concrete. The installation manual states the required thickness and strength, and we will not print a figure we cannot verify for your building. Get an old, cracked or unknown floor assessed before the lift ships.
  • Power: a 2.0 HP, 220V unit. Confirm the supply and connection with us before you order.

Two measurements to confirm before you order

Published figures for the OH-10 differ on two measurements: AMGO's current specification and the specification sheet this page is built from give a different number for each.

  • Maximum lifting height without the extension adapter. The figure in the table above is the one on this page's specification sheet; AMGO currently publishes a lower maximum for the same measurement.
  • Minimum pad height. Again, the table above carries this page's sheet figure; AMGO currently publishes a taller minimum, which would put the arms further off the floor — worth settling first if you are counting clearance under a low car.

Figures like these get republished from seller to seller for years, so both are in circulation. If either measurement decides your purchase, ask us to confirm it in writing before you order and we will get the current number straight from AMGO.

Perfect for

  • Independent repair shops doing mixed work — the adapter set and the asymmetric arms are both about how quickly the next vehicle goes up.
  • Tyre, brake and suspension work, where wheels-free access and a clear floor matter more than storage.
  • Serious home workshops with the ceiling for a two-post and no wish to buy adapters as a second purchase.
  • Fleet and light-commercial workshops running vehicles with very different contact points on the same lift.

What comes with it

Standard equipment as listed by the manufacturer: the dual direct-drive hydraulic cylinders, the Super-Asymmetric arms, the single-point safety release, self-lubricating UHMW polyethylene sliders and bronze bushings, the clear-floor structure with its overhead safety shut-off device, and the stackable rubber pads with 1.5″, 2.5″ and 5″ adapters. If you work on something unusual — a heavy van, a lowered car, an EV with defined jack points — ask us before you order whether the standard set reaches it.

Certification, and what it actually certifies

AMGO certifies the OH-10 to CE and states it meets or exceeds European Standard EN-1493. Know what that is worth: a CE marking is the manufacturer's own declaration of conformity against European directives, for a European market. It is not the same document as an independent North American third-party lift safety listing and does not stand in for one. For most private buyers that never comes up; for a few it decides the purchase, because some insurance policies, fleet operations and local jurisdictions require a third-party listing by name. If yours does, tell us which before you order.

Shipping and delivery

The OH-10 ships as freight to the lower 48, and the rate is fetched from the carrier for your address at checkout rather than printed here, because a number typed into copy goes stale.

Plan the unload first. At 1,642 lbs crated, getting the freight to the ground is the receiver's responsibility: a forklift makes it short work; without one, take terminal pickup or collect from an AMGO warehouse location listed further down this page. A residential delivery address carries a residential fee, shown at checkout.

Inspect with the driver still on site. Torn wrap, bent column ends, cut banding or a load that has visibly moved goes onto the bill of lading before you sign. Photographs at the tailgate are what a freight claim is decided on.

Warranty

AMGO covers this lift with five years on steel components, three years on hydraulic parts and two years on electrical components. One rule protects those terms: do not dismantle a power unit, cylinder, valve, hose or lock assembly before a claim has been opened. A part that has been taken apart is treated as a modified part. Photograph the fault, take the serial number off the column, and call us first.

Not sure which overall height your bay takes, or whether the standard adapters reach your vehicles? Contact us with your ceiling measurement and we will answer both.
