AMGO MRP06: the ramps are not just ramps

The detail worth building this page around sits in one line of AMGO's own feature list and gets no explanation anywhere: on the MRP06, the strengthened drive-on ramps flip up and are used as extended platform. That is a structural claim, not a storage convenience. A mid-rise portable lift is short by design — its runways have to fit between the wheels and stay light enough to move — and the honest limitation of the format is what happens when the vehicle is longer than the platform. Ramps that fold up into working surface are how this lift answers that, and it is the reason to look at the MRP06 rather than a generic mid-rise.

Around that sits a 6,000 lbs lift on an integrated non-skid platform, with an ETL certified power unit available as 1.0HP on 110V or 2.0HP on 220V, and AMGO's patented power unit stand so one person can move the whole thing to another bay.

What "portable" honestly means here

It means repositionable, not luggable. The MRP06 has a gross weight of 1,338 lbs. Nobody is putting that in the back of a pickup. What the patented power unit stand does is make the lift a single-person move across a shop floor — you are not detaching a power unit from a wall, not draining lines, and not finding a second person before you can clear a bay.

That distinction is worth being blunt about because it changes who should buy it. If you need a lift that travels to jobs, this is not it. If you need a lift that lives in a shop but must not permanently own a bay — because the bay is also a parking space, a paint area, or the only route to the back door — then a lift one person can walk out of the way is worth a great deal more than the specification sheet suggests.

Will It Fit?

A mid-rise portable removes most of the usual fitment worry. There is no overhead beam to clear, no column height, and it is not bolted into your slab. What is left is floor area, working height and a circuit.

• Floor footprint. Overall length 79 15/16 inches, with the runways measuring 57 1/2 inches long and 77 3/16 inches across their outside edges. Allow room to walk both sides and to swing a door once the vehicle is up.
• Width between the runways. 29 15/16 inches — this is the gap the vehicle straddles and where the exhaust, sump and transmission sit.
• Working height. It lifts to 41 3/4 inches, with a maximum lock height of 40 9/16 inches. That is seated-on-a-stool or bent-over work, not stand-up-underneath work. A mid-rise is for wheels, brakes, sills, exhausts and bodywork, and it is deliberately not a full-rise lift.
• Getting under a low car. Minimum height is 4 3/4 inches.
• Power. 1.0HP on 110V, or 2.0HP on 220V. Decide which before it ships.
• Ceiling. Whatever your building has. The lift adds no structure above the vehicle, so your roof only has to clear the vehicle plus 41 3/4 inches.

Confirming your floor area, your surface and your circuit is the buyer's responsibility. A portable lift still needs flat, sound, level concrete underneath it — a lift that is easy to move is not a lift that can be used anywhere.

Confirm the cycle time before you order

The published cycle time carries a voltage that does not match the motor options. The lifting-time specification reads 26/68 Seconds (210V/110V), while the motor and voltage specifications give 110V and 220V. A 210V supply is not something you can buy in North America, so 220V is the likely reading — but the figure is reproduced here exactly as published rather than adjusted. Order on 110V or 220V as the motor specification states, and if the exact cycle time decides your purchase, ask us and we will confirm it against AMGO's current factory sheet first.

The non-skid platform, and why an integrated one is different

The platform is integrated and non-skid rather than being a pair of separate pads or a bolt-together deck. Integrated means the structure that resists twisting is the platform itself, which is what allows quick lifting without the whole assembly needing to settle first. Non-skid matters more on a mid-rise than on a full-rise lift for a mundane reason: on a mid-rise you are frequently standing on or leaning across the platform yourself, often with a wheel in your hands, and often with brake fluid or road salt on the surface. A drive-on lift that only considers the tyres has missed half of its own job.

A mechanical lock with a release you operate by hand

The MRP06 holds its height on a mechanical lock with a manual release. The chain of reasoning is the same on every hydraulic lift and worth restating: hydraulics raise the load, mechanical steel holds it, and anything that goes under the vehicle should go under it after the lift has been set down onto a lock. A manual release means the lock does not come out until you deliberately take it out — no hydraulic sequence, no electrical interlock, nothing to fail quietly. On a lift that gets moved around, that simplicity is a feature.

The scope is the useful part: the listing sits on the electrical power unit, which is a genuine electrical safety mark, and it is not a third-party structural certification of the lift as a whole. In a private garage and in most independent shops nothing more is ever asked for. It does come up for some commercial insurance policies, for fleet and municipal operations, and for jurisdictions whose code names a specific listing. Establish what your insurer or inspector requires before you order.

Shipping and delivery

This ships by freight truck to addresses in the lower 48 states, with freight quoted live at checkout against your own address, so the figure you see is a current carrier rate rather than a stale estimate. It arrives crated on a standard trailer and getting it to the ground is the receiver's job — a forklift, a machine, or a plan and some help. Where none of those exist, collecting from the carrier's local terminal is usually easier, because the terminal already has the equipment. Delivery to a residential address carries a residential fee, applied at checkout when you select it.

Inspect before you sign: crushed corners, bent steel, shifted banding, any trace of oil. Write what you find on the bill of lading while the driver is still there, and photograph it. A clean signature is the carrier's evidence that the load arrived undamaged.
